White Mountain Tissue Appoints CNG As Its Exclusive Sales And Marketing Representative

GORHAM, N.H., June 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — White Mountain Tissue today announced that it has appointed Central National-Gottesman Inc. (CNG) as its exclusive sales and marketing representative.

In September 2012, White Mountain Tissue (a joint venture between Gorham Paper and Tissue, and Old Town Fuel & Fiber) will begin the operation of a $35 million, state-of-the-art tissue machine at its facility in Gorham, New Hampshire. In conjunction with this project, CNG will act as the exclusive sales and marketing representative for all tissue produced on the new machine. Through CNG, White Mountain Tissue intends to establish long-term supply relationships with North American tissue converters.

This new machine, delivered by ABK Machinery, will produce 36,000 tons per year of premium virgin parent rolls of bath tissue, towel, and napkin, serving the needs of independent and integrated tissue converters. In early 2013, the installation of a re-winder will allow the mill to also supply multi-ply grades.

Most of the pulp for White Mountain Tissue will be supplied by its sister company in Maine, Old Town Fuel & Fiber. Old Town is FSC-certified and produces 200,000 tons per year of premium quality, northern bleached hardwood kraft pulp. The Old Town facility is an industry leader focused on high quality fiber, renewable energy and advanced biotechnology.

“We are very excited as we approach our September start-up,” said Dick Arnold, President/CEO. “The 75 ton Yankee dryer was lowered into place on May 17th and our project team is working tirelessly to ensure a smooth start to operations. We are also very pleased to expand our partnership with CNG as our sales and marketing representatives. CNG is the exclusive sales representative for our Old Town pulp facility and I am certain that together we will quickly establish White Mountain as the preferred supplier of tissue parent rolls.”
